Apple Frangipane Tart

Apple and almonds make a good fix together. You can always prepare the recipe one day ahead and reheat when ready to serve.

Ingredients:
Crust:
• ½ c. softened butter
• ½ c. sugar, powdered
• 1 egg
• 1 pinch salt
• 2 c. all-purpose flour
Filling:
• ½ c. softened butter
• ½ c. sugar, light brown
• 1 ½ c. almonds, ground
• 1 egg yolk
• 1 tsp. vanilla extract
• 2 eggs
• 2 peeled Granny Smith apples, nicely cored and sliced
Instruction:
1. To make the crust, combine the sugar and butter in a container until creamy. Put in the egg and mix thoroughly.
2. Stir in flour and salt, then move the dough to a floured working surface and roll it into a sheet.
3. Put the mixture in a tart pan and press it on the bottom and sides of the pan. Trim the edges if required.
4. Next, to make the filling, combine the sugar and butter in a container until creamy.
5. Put in the vanilla, eggs, egg yolk, and almonds and mix thoroughly.
6. Spoon the filling into the crust. Then, top with apple slices.
7. Pre-heat the oven and bake at 350F for about forty-five minutes or until a golden-brown color is achieved.
8. Let cool in the pan and serve, sliced.
